Title transfer involves the transfer of land ownership from one person to another. It is one of the most fundamental steps in the Purchase and Sale of a Residential Property.

In order to change title ownership, a Transfer of Land form must be completed and signed by all the current registered owners. The original title and the Transfer of Land form are then submitted to the Land Titles Office of Alberta for processing.

You may want to transfer title where you wish to change a co-ownership arrangement from joint tenancy to sole ownership, or you may want to change title from joint tenancy to tenancy in common.
